No. Install Filie and you're ready to go — there's nothing to sign up for and no account to manage. Devices are identified to each other directly, not through an account system.

iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, and Linux. Mix and match any combination — send from an iPhone to a Windows PC, an Android phone to a Mac, and so on.

Yes. Transfers between devices on the same Wi-Fi are always free, for everyone, with no limit. Sending over the internet (Cloud) is free too, up to three sends a month — a subscription removes that limit. See Pricing for details.

Pick your files first — tap the send button and choose from your photos, documents, or anywhere else on your device. Then pick where they go: a device, a Favorite, or a Group.

Local sends go directly between devices on the same Wi-Fi — fast, free, and unlimited. Cloud sends go through Filie's servers so you can reach a device anywhere, on any network — your files are still encrypted before they leave your device.

Next to each device you'll see a small Local or Cloud pill. Filie automatically picks the best way to reach that device — there's no toggle to switch it yourself. The pill just tells you which one Filie is using right now.

No compression and no per-file size limit — Filie moves your files as-is. You can select up to 20 files in a single send.

It depends on the platform:

• Android — Downloads/Filie folder
• iOS — an externally visible Filie folder
• macOS, Windows, Linux — a folder you choose (defaults to Downloads)

A device you trust. Sends from a Favorite skip the approval step and come straight through — no tapping Accept every time. Favorites also stay listed even when they're offline.

After a successful transfer you'll be offered the chance to save that device. You can also tap the star next to any device to add or remove it as a Favorite, scan their QR code, or open a link they've shared with you.

Open Settings — you'll find Copy, Share, QR Code, and Email buttons for your device's link. Send it to someone and opening it adds you as a Favorite on their device automatically. It will also add them as a Favorite on your device if they add you within two weeks of you sharing it.

Pick your files, then tap Send By Code — Filie generates an 8-character code with a dash in the middle (like K3D9-7QRT). Give it to the other person; they tap Receive By Code on their main screen and type it in to start the transfer. No scanning or same-network required.

They're the fastest option when you're in the same room. One device shows the QR code, the other scans it with Scan QR, and Filie connects instantly — no typing required.

A saved list of devices that all receive the same files together. Create one for your family, your team, or an event, and every future send reaches everyone at once. Full details are on the Groups page.

You choose one when you create the group:

• Everyone Can Send — any member can send to the group, and the roster is visible to all. Good for family or a close team.
• Owners Can Send — only owners send; members just receive and can't see who else is in the group. Good for announcements.
• Collect & Distribute — members send to the owners, who curate and share back out to everyone. Good for a party or trip photo album.

Yes, even if everyone happens to be on the same Wi-Fi — that's what lets everyone receive at once. One send to a group only counts as a single send against your monthly limit, no matter how many members are in it.

The owner shares a join link or QR code, good for 30 days. Anyone who opens it requests to join, and is admitted automatically the next time the owner's device is online.

Unlimited Cloud transfers, no ads, and it covers up to 10 of your own devices. Local Wi-Fi transfers are always free, subscription or not.

No — only the sender needs one (or a remaining free monthly send). Receiving is always free, and transfers on the same Wi-Fi are free for everyone regardless of subscription status.

On the same platform, open Settings and tap Restore Purchase. To link devices across platforms — say, an iPhone and a Windows PC — use Link Devices in Settings instead. Either way, no account or sign-in is needed, and you can manage or remove linked devices at any time.

See current pricing on the Pricing page. Payment goes through your device's app store — Apple or Google — so your billing details never touch Filie's servers, and you can cancel anytime from your app store account.

Yes. Files are encrypted on your device before they leave it. For Cloud transfers, Filie's servers only ever see encrypted data — they move it, but they can't read it, and neither can anyone but the person you're sending to.

No. Only the sending and receiving devices can decrypt a transfer. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

• Push notifications — to alert you to incoming transfers and group updates.
• Local network discovery — to find other Filie devices on your Wi-Fi for free local transfers.
• Photos (read) — to let you pick photos to send. On iOS, Filie uses a picker plugin that never actually gives the app access to your photo library.
• Storage (write) — to save files you receive, into your Downloads (or platform equivalent).
• Camera — only when you choose to scan a QR code.
